Everything stays on your device — export/import, localStorage, and privacy architecture.
Privacy architecture
No accounts, no servers, no tracking, no network calls. Your entire plan lives in your browser's localStorage. If you clear your browser data, your plan is gone — use export to back up.
Export data
In the Plan Setup wizard, use Export Data to download your entire plan as a JSON file. Includes household, persons, assumptions, accounts, incomes, expenses, and saved scenarios.
Import data
On any device, use Import Data to load a previously exported JSON file. Validates, upgrades old versions, and restores your full plan.
Saved scenarios
Up to 10 what-if scenarios stored in localStorage. Persist across browser sessions. Tied to the device and browser.
Tax Planner is ephemeral
Changes in the Tax Planner are never saved. They reset when you leave the page. This is intentional — it's a sandbox.
Clearing data
To start fresh, clear your browser's site data for this app. Everything — plan, scenarios, preferences — will be removed.
